This winter the price to heat the average American’s home is expected to increase by $400 and forecasters are predicting the winter of 2007-2008 to be the coldest in five years. In addition, President Bush announced his decision to reduce the 2007-2008 funding for LIHEAP by $1.7 Billion, a cut that will leave over 6 million Americans without heat this winter, force many families out of their homes, and cause thousands of elderly citizens to literally freeze to death. the poor will have no protection from this ill-fated weather and President Bush’s inhumane policy.
